cfmta music playathon 2021CFMTA will hold their annual fundraiser event, the Music Playathon on Saturday January 16, 2021 at Cafe Linger in College Park. Students from across Central Florida will perform to raise money for CFMTA student scholarship and the Orlando Cancer Center Cancer Support Community: an organization that provides support, encouragement, and resources to cancer patients and their families. This event always provides a fun, casual, and encouraging performance opportunity for students - and we are excited about the new venue this year!
BSM plans to register and participate as a school, so please let us know by January 7 if you would like to attend! All participants will need to raise a minimum donation of $10 in order to participate. Donations should be made out to BSM (cash or check), so that we will be able to write 1 check. All donations will go to CFMTA for the above causes. Music does not need to be memorized, and students are welcome to play multiple pieces!! As this is a live performance, masks and social distancing will be enforced. |
All BSM students are welcome to attend Musicianship Classes. Check your email for the zoom link!

Musicianship Classes Spring 2021BSM Musicianship Classes throughout the 2020-2021 Academic Year will feature Classical Era Music & Composers. Each class will feature a different notable composer as well as highlight a particular musical form and instrument.
During Spring 2021, all Musicianship classes will be held online via Zoom. There will be NO registration required, and the link will be made available the week leading up to the class. All homework packets will be available in the student portal. February 6, 9:15 - 10:00 AM. Join us to learn about German composer Ludwig van Beethoven, composer of some of the most popular classical pieces of today. In class we will learn about Beethoven's difficult childhood, his tortured and tragic personal sufferings and hearing loss, but his ability to transcend all of the different challenges life presented him with and still compuse some of the most passionate and exquisite music ever written. Aside from Beethoven's life and music, we will listen to some of his major works, learn about the symphony, and study the pianoforte. April 10, 10:15 - 11:00 AM. Our second class will feature the life and career of Franz Schubert, famed for his beautiful melodies, rich harmonies, and prolific repertoire for the voice. This class will also cover sonata allegro form and teach students more about the voice. |
Spring 2021 Virtual studio classAll BSM students are invited to join us from 10:15 - 11:00 AM on select Saturdays for a virtual studio performance class. During each class, we will offer opportunities for students to play a piece (or pieces) they are working with for each other. This is a fantastic way to gain performance experience, test out your pieces prior to a performance, and get creative and constructive comments from peers! Memorization is not required. We would encourage students to plan to attend and perform as much as they are able to.
There is NO registration for this class - all are welcome to attend. Students who wish to perform should discuss with their teachers in their lesson that week. Please check your email in the week leading up to the class for the specific Zoom link. |
