The BSM Mission Statement
The Blakemore School of Music seeks to provide the highest quality of music teaching to students of all ages in Central Florida. We partner with the Florida Music Teacher's Association and The Music Development Program, an internationally recognized curriculum, to offer our students the most well-rounded and comprehensive music education. We aim to inspire our students to be creative and artistic while developing a love of beauty and excellence.
We believe that studying music is not only an enriching and rewarding experience, but that it develops important character qualities and life skills such as confidence, problem solving, discipline, long term goal-setting and achieving, creativity, imagination, diligence, persistence, and the ability to perform in public. We use a teacher-mentor approach when interacting with students and we hope that they will develop these qualities during their music study at the Blakemore School of Music.
