Weekly Private Lessons
We offer 30, 45, and 60 Minute lessons based on the age and/or level of the student. During lessons, students receive private one-on-one instruction covering topics such as repertoire, musicality, artistry, technique, and music theory. Lessons are offered in our studio, in student homes*, or online.
Community performances & Recitals
We offer a number of community performances throughout the year at various venues such as retirements homes, libraries, and hospitals as well as 2 formal recitals held at the end of each semester. These performances are a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase what they are learning. All of our students are encouraged to participate in these events.
Monthly Musicianship Classes
Each student of the Blakemore School of Music is invited to attend the monthly musicianship classes. During these classes, we will be covering musical terms, rhythm games and exercises, and will be learning about a famous composer. These classes are great opportunities for students make friends while learning about musical topics we don't usually have time to cover in lessons.

BSM offers several outside opportunities for students who are interested in pursing assessment, participating in music festivals & competitions, and summer music camps. Affiliations include the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Florida State Music Teacher's Association (FSMTA), Central Florida Music Teachers Association (CFMTA), Lake Central Federation, and Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program.
preschool Musikgarten Group music classes
Beginning Fall 2019, we are excited to off music enrichment classes to preschoolers using the world-renowned Musikgarten curriculum. Students enrolled in the Group Classes will receive materials including a CD or music download for at home listening, and are invited to attend and observe any other BSM performances or recitals!
Cycle of seasons (ages 3-5)
Beginning in Fall 2019, BSM will offer Musikgarten classes. Musikgarten is a world-renowned childhood music curriculum with training for students from infancy up through age 9. Along the way students learn to listen, sing, and play instruments in an engaging environment and families can grow musically together with easy-to-use family materials for reinforcing class activities at home.
This fall Ryan will teach Musikgarten's "Cycle of Seasons: Wind Dancers" to students ages 3-5 on Thursday from 1:30-2:15 PM. Wind Dancers is a 15-week class and will begin on Thursday, August 22nd and finish at the end of the semester. In Spring 2020 "Cycle of Seasons: Sun Catchers" will follow a similar schedule and will build upon the skills students have mastered in Wind Dancers.
