BSM Piano Program
Students of the Blakemore School of Music Piano Program are enrolled in weekly private lessons, monthly musicianship classes, studio performance classes, and are eligible to perform in all community performances. This program is a commitment for the academic year and is a tuition based program. All students wishing to become a part of the BSM Piano Program will be asked to do a complimentary consultation either in person or online prior to being accepted to ensure that the BSM Program is a good fit. For more information about our Piano Program, see below.
Weekly Private LessonsWe offer 30, 45, and 60 Minute lessons based on the age and/or level of the student. During lessons, students receive private one-on-one instruction covering topics such as repertoire, musicality, artistry, technique, and theory. These lessons are personally individualized to help students and families explore and achieve their own goals and interests which can range from learning your favorite pop tune, to being able to read music on the staff, to prepping for competitions and college auditions. All private lessons are offered in our studio, in student homes*, and online.
Community performances & RecitalsWe offer a number of community performances throughout the year at various venues such as retirement homes, libraries, and hospitals as well as formal recitals held at the end of each semester. These performances are a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase what they are learning. All of our students are encouraged to participate in these events.

Group Musicianship & Performance ClassesEach student of the Blakemore School of Music is invited to attend the group musicianship classes. During these classes, we cover a featured composer using beautifully designed curriculum written by BSM faculty especially for BSM students. We also teach students about musical forms, historical musical instruments, and do some in-class listening. Performance classes offer students an opportunity to practice the art of performing in a comfortable positive environment and get constructive feedback from their teachers and peers. These classes are offered in our studio and online via zoom.
Assessment & Festival OpportunitiesBSM offers several outside opportunities for students who are interested in pursuing assessment, participating in music festivals & competitions, and summer music camps. Affiliations include the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Florida State Music Teachers Association (FSMTA), Central Florida Music Teachers Association (CFMTA), and Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto (RCM) Music Assessments.
